Your Green Home Resource
Let me help you rid your home of toxins and teach how to care for your home in a non-toxic way with Tomboy Tools, Shaklee, Back2Tap and Eco-$mart.
I have always cared about our impact on the environment, but allowed myself to compromise my beliefs for my career. That’s why I am committed now to a career in harmony with my beliefs.
The federal and state incentives for solar hot water and power are significant enough to make the choices affordable for families, helping us all save money and the environment. Eco-$mart has an extensive collection of green building choices, as well as a large network of contractors who can do it well for an affordable rate.
My background and my heart is in construction, and I am passionate about helping women tackle do-it-yourself projects on their own to understand and control the materials and methods. I do this as an Independent Consultant for Tomboy Tools. Please let me know if you need a little coaching to take on a project in your home or are looking for great, affordable gifts for other empowered women in your life.
But I also believe that what we put into our body and clean our houses with is vital to our health and the planet’s health, so I also represent Shaklee as an Independent Consultant. As the first US company certified Climate Neutral, Shaklee is a company I can be proud to educate like-minded people about.
I work with Back2Tap to help educate families about the negative impact bottled water is having on our environment. While plastic bottles could be recycled, too few are, and we only add to the excess garbage when we buy water at teh store. Most tap water in the United States is good, although I prefer to filter mine to remove excess chlorine, fluoride and change the flavor. Back2Tap provides stainless steel bottles, Wrap-Mats and Snack-Taxis for fundraising opportunities to schools, civic organizations and anyone who wants to eduate consumers about how to same money and the earth.
I don’t support “greenwashing” - overstating the environmental benefits of a product or service, but I also don’t expect people to go cold turkey and give up everything. Start slowly and try something new every 6 months, for example. Don’t refuse to take the first step because the 100th step will be difficult. Take 99 and then see how bad number 100 will be.
